Background

Driven by a deep passion for water engineering and sustainable innovation, Ananthu Mohan is currently pursuing a Master鈥檚 by Research at 美姬阁 after completing his MSc in Water and Wastewater Engineering. His research targets one of today鈥檚 most pressing challenges鈥攄eveloping scalable, cost-effective technologies for the removal of PFAS contaminants from drinking water. With a solid foundation in operational engineering, field implementation, and business development, Ananthu combines technical know-how with strategic acumen to drive impactful solutions in the water sector. His interdisciplinary experience positions him as a forward-thinking contributor to global water resilience and innovation

Research opportunities

Ananthu's research interests lie at the intersection of water quality, environmental engineering, and innovation. He is particularly focused on treatment technologies for emerging contaminants such as PFAS, with an emphasis on real-world applicability. He is also passionate about decentralised water systems, sustainable infrastructure, and low-energy treatment solutions.

Current activities

Ananthu is currently conducting Rapid Small-Scale Column Tests (RSSCT) as part of his MSc by Research project, focusing on evaluating adsorptive media for PFAS removal.

Beyond the lab, he contributes to interdisciplinary innovation challenges and community events and actively participates in youth advocacy groups such as the UN MGCY鈥檚 Youth Working Group for the World Social Summit.
